Pangram Projects had the pleasure of collaborating with Rice Rice Baby to craft a dining environment that not only reflects the bold, vibrant flavors of Vietnamese cuisine but also elevates the customer experience through thoughtful, design-led execution.

From concept to completion, our team delivered a fit-out that balances style, culture, and functionality, transforming the space into a warm, modern, and engaging environment that complements the restaurant’s culinary vision.

Rice Rice Baby brings the authentic taste of Vietnam to the heart of Hamilton East, introducing locals to the country’s diverse culinary traditions. Vietnamese food is celebrated for being both nutritious and flavourful, with iconic dishes like pho and herb-forward recipes that are deeply rooted in cultural heritage. The design approach reflects this balance, contemporary, yet grounded in tradition.

As Vietnam evolves, its people continue to cherish the food and culture that connect them to their identity. Rice Rice Baby captures this sentiment through its menu and ambiance, offering a space where people can gather, explore, and experience the essence of Vietnamese cuisine.
Pangram Projects ensured the space remained true to this narrative. Delivering a restaurant interior that avoids clichés and embraces authenticity, with a modern edge. The result is a distinctive, sensory-rich dining venue that resonates with patrons and reflects the client’s brand at every touchpoint.

Partnering with Rice Rice Baby has been a truly rewarding experience. Our team was entrusted with the task of revitalising the original venue, respecting its roots while delivering a refined, updated space that reflects both brand growth and evolving customer expectations.

The redesign honours the character of the original fit-out, while introducing thoughtful enhancements that improve functionality, flow, and aesthetics. Soft, contemporary pastel tones, carefully selected imagery and typography, and improved seating solutions come together to create an inviting environment where both staff and customers feel at ease.

Though the project presented challenges, the collaborative energy of creative minds and a shared passion for cultural storytelling made the process inspiring. The outcome is a space that reflects Rice Rice Baby’s continued evolution in both design and reputation.
As champions of food, community, and cultural identity, Rice Rice Baby is proud to welcome guests to their refreshed space, a warm, authentic dining experience that celebrates the richness of Vietnamese cuisine and heritage.

Pangram Projects is honoured to have played a role in this transformation, supporting cultural expression, elevating hospitality design, and contributing to New Zealand’s increasingly diverse culinary landscape.
